I was looking through my photo gallery and realized I’d been telling myself to read this book since 2022.
I kept putting it off, then finally finished it in the fall of 2025. For the first four chapters, I was basically thinking, “Wait, what is this book even about?” But after that, it felt like the genre completely changed, and I had so much fun reading it. I remember getting so excited that I went around telling everyone about it. I’m especially fond of this book because it influenced one of my follow-up research ideas. If that work ever gets published, I might even mention the book in the acknowledgments 😌
I’d recommend it to researchers, especially anyone who’s ever studied something we think we already understand…which is probably all of us?
